Benjamin Moore

Rich Chestnut

2090-20

Rich Chestnut is a deep russet red with strong brown undertones that root it firmly in the earth-tone spectrum. At an LRV of 12.32, it absorbs a substantial amount of light, making it a low-reflectance color that will read significantly darker on walls than it appears on a swatch. The brown content prevents it from appearing fire-engine red, instead pulling it toward oxblood and burnt sienna.

Simply White and Cloud Cover provide necessary lightness to offset its density. Hale Navy and Essex Green work as contrasting darks, and Terra Cotta Tile bridges the gap as an analogous mid-tone.
